WARNING : Anyone not using the 5 5 12 SCIO software version WILL BE LOCKED OUT OF THEIR SOFTWARE on the evening of Jan 9th 2013

If you are nervous about doing the update alone and dont want to feel rushed, you can backdate your computer clock to buy a little more time.

How can I update the SCIO Software if I have a version older than 5-5-2011?

Please make sure to check the version number of your current Software before proceeding as there are different update processes for different versions of the Software.

Backing up your Client Files

  1. Open an Internet browser, go to www.qxsubspace.com and log in using your Username and Password.
  2. Click on Downloads from the top menu bar and select Software.
  3. Scroll down to find the Client Backup Tool and click Download.
  4. Click Save or Run in the download window.
  5. When the file is downloaded, double click on ClientBackupTool.exe and Run to start the installation.
  6. Click Next on the Welcome Screen.
  7. In the next window you have the option of selecting where to install the Client Backup Tool. The recommended folder is the default. Please click Next to proceed.
  8. The final window before the installation is a summary of the installation process, with information about set up done on previous pages. Please click Next button to start the installation.
  9. Click Finish to complete the installation.
  10. The Client Backup Toll will automatically start when installation is finished. The following message is displayed: Do you want to run the BackupRestore Software in Paradox Mode? If you have 2009 or older please choose Yes. If you have 3-3-2010 or newer version please chose No. Make the appropriate selection based on the Software currently installed on your computer. The next message will display the Database type you have. Click OK to proceed.
  11. Click Make a Backup to save your client files. There is an option of removing the duplicate patients.
  12. When Backup is complete you will get a message to confirm. Please click OK to finish.

Removing the old version of the software

  1. Open the Start menu and select Control Panel.
  2. Click on Programs to view a list of all programs installed on your computer.
  3. Scroll down to find Clasp32 and click on it. Select Uninstall from the top menu bar to safely uninstall the Software.
  4. When uninstallation is complete, please open My Computer by double clicking on the icon on your desktop.
  5. Select C Drive, find the Clasp32 folder and delete it.

To install the Full Software, please follow the steps below:

  1. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 make sure the User Account Control (UAC) is turned off.
  2. The Software can be installed either directly after downloading it from the www.qxsubspace.com or from a DVD.
    1. If you have the Software on a DVD or on a Flash Drive, please insert it into the proper drive of your computer. If the installation process did not start automatically, please locate the Install.exe on your DVD or Flash Drive and double-click on it to initiate installation.
    2. If you used the Software Download Tool to get the latest version of the software and the installation process did not start automatically, please locate the Install.exe on your C: Drive, tmpEductor64 folder and double-click on it to initiate installation.
  3. Click Next on the Welcome Screen.
  4. The next screen shows you which Software Applications will be installed. All programs are checked by default as this is the recommended setting, but you can choose to remove the ones you have already installed or do not need. Please click Next when ready.
  5. In the next window you have the option of selecting where to install the Software. The recommended default folder is the C:Clasp32. Please click on the Next button when ready.
  6. The final window before the installation is a summary of the installation process, with information about set up done on previous pages. Please click Next button to start the installation.
  7. When the installation is finished, please click Finish to complete the process.

After installing the Full Software, you need to install the 12-12-2012 Service Pack. In order to do so, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox).
  2. Go to the www.qxsubspace.com website and log in.
  3. Click on Downloads on the top menu bar of the website and select Software.
  4. Download the 12-12-2012 Service Pack.
  5. In the pop-up window click on Save file or click Run if the option comes up.
  6. If you clicked on Save File, run the downloaded 12-12-2012_Service_Pack_rev03012013.exe. file by double clicking on it in the download window.
  7. Click Next on the Welcome Screen.
  8. The next window shows you where the Software will be installed. Please DO NOT change the default folder as this will compromise the proper installation of the Software. Click Next to proceed.
  9. The final window before the installation is a summary of the installation process, with information about set up done on previous pages. Please click Next button to start the installation.
  10. Click Finish to complete the installation.

With the 5-5-2012 version, the SCIO/Eductor Software is now Multilanguage. To install the Language options, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open an Internet browser, go to www.qxsubspace.com and log in using your Username and Password.
  2. Click on Downloads from the top menu bar and select Software.
  3. Scroll down to find the Language Add-ons and click Download.
  4. Click Save or Run in the download window.
  5. When the file is downloaded, double click on Language_Add-ons.exe and Run to start the installation.
  6. Click Next on the Welcome Screen.
  7. The next window shows you where the Languages will be installed. Please DO NOT change the default folder as this will compromise the proper installation of the Languages. Click Next to proceed.
  8. The final window before the installation is a summary of the installation process, with information about set up done on previous pages. Please click Next button to start the installation.
  9. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Restoring your Client Files

  1. Double click on the Backup Restore for Clasp32 SQLite. The following message is displayed: Do you want to run the BackupRestore Software in Paradox Mode? If you have 2009 or older please choose Yes. If you have 3-3-2010 or newer version please chose No. Make the appropriate selection based on the Software currently installed on your computer. The next message will display the Database type you have. Click OK to proceed.
  2. Click Restore to restore your client files. The program will ask you whether you want to remove your original patients. Please click Yes or No depending on whether you have entered new patients before restoring the Patient Files.
  3. When restoring client files is complete you will get a message to confirm. Please click OK to finish.

After installing the Language Add-ons, you will see a Language icon on your desktop that allows you to switch between languages.

You have now successfully updated your Software to the newest version and can proceed with the activation.

  1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox).

  4. Download the 12-12-2012 Service Pack.

  2. Click on Downloads from the top menu bar and select Software.
  3. Scroll down to find the Language Add-onsand click Download.
  4. Click Save or Run in the download window.
  5. When the file is downloaded, double click on Language_Add-ons.exe and Run to start the installation.
  6. Click Next on the Welcome Screen.
  7. The next window shows you where the Languages will be installed. Please DO NOT change the default folder as this will compromise the proper installation of the Languages. Click Next to proceed.
  8. The final window before the installation is a summary of the installation process, with information about set up done on previous pages. Please click Next button to start the installation.
  9. Click Finish to complete the installation.
  10. Start the Software by double clicking on the ‘Eductor’ icon on your desktop.
  11. Click BackupClient Data to start the process. When Backup is complete, please click on ‘Continue’. You can now proceed with the Activation.

After installing the Language Add-ons, you will see a Language icon on your desktop that allows you to switch between languages.

Your Software is now successfully updated to the newest version and you can proceed with the activation.
