RESISTANCE VARIABILITY INDICATOR
DISCLAIMER: This function in the software is to show that the harness is showing skin resistance. The RVI is not a Harness Diagnostic program. If there is any suspicion of an actual Harness problem, contact Support Central. The harnesses can only be properly tested with specific equipment. This RVI program provides assurance that the device, via the harness, is indeed interfacing with your client’s skin resistance, creating a reading. The reading this program provides is a representative wave form that shows electrical transference when the skin is in contact with the conductive material of the harness and should not be used for any other measurement.
While we are on the topic of the Harness, please be sure to refer to the “Instructions For Use” and the section on the proper use of the Harness in your sessions Pay particular attention to pages 29 and 30.
USING THE RVI PROGRAM
Have both head and limb harness connected to the INDIGO device as you normally would. The best results are obtained with the client fully connected and the straps attached according to the instructions. If you choose to use the hand method for the harness check, be sure to use the appropriate cleaning materials afterward. You can find information in the section on the Biotrode Harnesses, in the “Instructions for Use”, manual found on the www.quantumworldvision.com website.
Connect the head and limb harness to the client, per instructions, before entering the Password Screen.
Click Password
Click Resistance Variability Indicator
Click the radio button for the harness you wish to check (head or limb).
HEAD HARNESS
Click Start
- Wait for the window to open and display a small wave form at the top (which will quickly change if the client is already in the harness). This window will remain open if the limb harness was already checked prior to starting this one.
- If you are doing this with the hand method (not placing on the head) lay the head harness on a flat surface and put your hand on all 8 conductive strips at once.
- Watch for the wave form to appear, it will go all the way across the small screen. You may notice the wave reverse or the height may adjust in size, this is normal. These results will likely be different than the limb harness results. Also be aware that it can change if the pressure is not consistent, but once the hand is steady it should not appear erratic. If you move your hand it may change and need time to adjust again.
- When all conductive strips have good contact with the skin, you should see a fairly steady, consistent wave form (slight variations are normal). Ideal results are obtained when the client is connected to the head and limb harness for a few moments before starting the RVI check.
Click STOP when you are finished. This also enables the START button again, if you need it.
LIMB HARNESS
Click Start
- Wait for the window to open and display a small wave form at the top (which will quickly change if the client is already in the harness). This window will remain open if the head harness was already checked prior to starting this one.
- If you are doing this with the hand method (not placing on the head) lay the four limb straps flat, side by side with a little space between them so they are not overlapping. Do not allow any of the connection wires to touch the strap next to it, as you may get a false reading. Then take your hand and make steady contact to all four conductive straps.

These results will likely be different than the limb harness results. Also be aware that it can change if the pressure is not consistent, but once the hand is steady it should not appear erratic.
