QC Backup Tool (Backing up Client Files)
Susan Updated; Dec 30, 2015

NOTE:  This Client Back Up tool became obsolete with the release of the 12 12 12 version. It was designed and developed by SST (formerly; Quantum Computers /Quantum Center of Excellence).

If you have the QC Backup Tool on your computer desktop please be aware that you cannot use it once you have updated to the 12 12 12 or newer software.  The only reason you might still use it is if you are still using the 5 5 11 or 11 11 11 software version and have not yet updated to the latest version of the software.

DO NOT USE IT AND THEN ATTEMPT TO RESTORE the client file from 11 11 11 or earlier versions to the new 12 12 12 . This older tool will be obsolete after the update to the 12 12 12 which does a backup and restore during the updating process. The new 12 12 12 update’s databases are now all encrypted so the 11 11 11 backed up files will not integrate with them without a proper conversion.  If the QC-Backup Tool still opens and works you can do a back up of the Clients and any added Gage and Nelson Matrix Items. This would only be done as a Safety Net measure ONLY.  If you attempt to RESTORE them after doing the 12 12 12 update, you will SURELY LOSE the client files. This is only done as an extra measure so that a TECH (who knows how to work with it) MIGHT be able to extract, convert and restore the client files in the event that they are lost in the update process.

The 12 12 12 and newer software has an automated back up and restore feature that is engaged in the updating process.. You can also see the post on how to Back Up and Restore the Indigo Client Files, these steps relate to the newer encrypted software versions.

Note:  Gage Tarrant has shared a video showing an alternative way to back up and restore the Added Gage/Nelson Matrix Items.  Instruction Video
